Swallows' Barn is a beautifully converted granary situated 7 miles west of historic Durham City. It benefits from wonderful views over rolling farmland, while being only 15 minutes drive from Durham and 35 minutes from Newcastle.
Apart from 2 internal steps, accommodation is on one level, suitable for disabled access. Spacious living areas, modern conveniences and original features combine to make a comfortable and welcoming holiday home for short or longer breaks (pets welcome by arrangement).
The cottage itself is a converted Granary which was situated next to the old farmhouse in bygone times. It has been restored and converted into a marvelous holiday cottage by Jon and Caroline Broome who themselves now live in the old farmhouse across the other side of the farmyard.
The swallows are still in residence, albeit, in a newer nest, in one of the other outbuildings.
